Royal County Down for me. Got pics in my profile if anyone hasn't seen it. An awesome experience on a truly beautiful golf course with awesome views. Greens were superb and the Marram grassed bunkers were well placed and penal but not impossible. I would urge every single golfer to make a pilgrimage.

+1 awesome course with elevation changes on every hole, definitely need to pick the right tees & plot your way round (need to love sand though)

Without doubt the best conditioned golf course I have played on my foreign travels, both times we have been the grass on the tees looked like astro turf as we drove in and the greens were like snooker tables and quick too..lovely.The only one that has come close to this condition wise in 13 years of travel was Plzen in the Czech Republic in 2008 I think it was.It was in awesome condition and a cracking track too, sadly I and the others that were there that year gave it the big build up to the others on the tour that had not played it and last year it was not in the greatest on conditions!:mmm:

My favourite course so far would be East Sussex National West Course. I need to play more top courses though. I'm not sure I've played more than 2 or 3 of the top 100?

On reading this type of thread no wonder many consider golf being elitist...

Not many courses been mentioned that wouldn't leave any change out of a ton for a visitor to play....

Also noted that some of the courses listed on the 'negative' thread are also north of a £100 to play...

So I am going for a 'muni'... Harefield Place before it was wrecked by the various companies that took over the running of it when the council leased it off...
