Another Callaway Upro problem!!!!!!!

Following on from Fundy's thread about not being able to download a chosen course on to his Callaway Upro gps device even though the website shows that it is available.

I am also unable to download a course which is showing available!!!!!

Is anyone else having these problems?

I must say the device is fantastic when used but totally useless without the desired course and I am now getting sick of this product as I have also been waiting 6 months for 2 other courses to be made available after several requests to Upro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really regret oping for Callaway Upro and wish I had purchased from a different manufacturer :mad: :mad: :mad:
 
The only problem I've had was trying to synch it on my work laptop, but that was a firewall issue not the unit.

I've been lucky and any course I've needed has been available and downloaded.
 
Got to agree with Bratty here. Not had any problems with mine. Requested a course as they had the main course where I play but not the 9 hole pay and play and it was added within a month.
 
this was the reason i didnt opt for the Upro, i had confirmed a great price of £140 with a pro shop including a load of offers, yet 3 of the main courses i play wasnt mapped. When i spoke to Upro they said the site showed many requests for these courses but could not give me a date of when they would be mapped. 6 months later their still not showing,
 
The download issue of courses available seems to have happened during the download of courses in the last couple of weeks.

I have not downloaded any courses for the last month or so when everything was fine.

" Fundy " on here is having the same problem as he tried to download an available course last week but hit problems.

pm sent, I found a work around which manually forced the course to download, hope it works for you too

re course downloads, they seem to do them quickly if they get lots of requests, they turned one round in 2 weeks when they got 40ish requests from a "society" in the space of a few days :)

Could you please log in to your Upro account and then click on the " my upro " button on the left hand side.

There are then displayed 2 window boxes named as " on my upro " and " my course list "

Can you see any course names listed in these boxes?

The names of the courses you have downloaded should appear in these boxes!!!

this is where I had to change machines, its a bit strange. On my laptop both of those boxes are completely blank, however on my desktop they are populated.

I expect it is a result of some security differences on the 2 machines though I couldnt find out what

had a bit of a play around on the laptop and just been through what has changed in the last 2 weeks. Seems the only main change I had made was a windows upgrade which took internet explorer to version 9.

I have just rolled back this update to version 8 (i prefer this anyway) and it seems to have done the trick with "on my upro" and "my course list" being fully populated again.

Have a look and see what version of windows you are using or even try using firefox or chrome to log in to the upro and see if this resolves the issue for you.

Griff I can try and do this tonight as I'm at work at the moment and don't have the upro with me, unless it's possible without it plugged in then I will check? Let me know.
 
Davey you should be able to see if they are populated by logging into your account without having the Upro connected, that said hopefully the Windows change may also work for griff

The windows change back to version 8 via system restore has done the trick :)

I have just downloaded successfully onto my upro and is working fine :) :)

Thanks " frundy " for your help.

" daveyc2k2 " and " bratty " I hope yours are ok if not you now know that it is the windows update that is causing the download problem.

All I got to do now is wait until upro decide to make available the other 2 courses I have been waiting 6 months for after 33 request made from other golfers :mad:

The other request I have made is via email ( several times )for " Old Padeswood " for a course update as the course is available but not up to date.

I have 10 courses on my Upro and you are correct it is a brill bit of kit.

Its just the service Callaway provide for updating and making some courses available are very frustrating especially as one of them is now my home course and not available!!!!!!!
 
Yeah, I can imagine that would be a pain.

It's one of the reasons why it's so cheap though. They use an external company to do their mapping, so don't want to add courses (i.e. pay the supplier) until there's enough requests to make it worth their while.
