I've had this mucus like cough now for about 4 weeks, and don't seem to be able to shift it.

Anyone had this and got an recommendations on what to take. It's got to the stage now where I'm thinking of going to the quaks!!

yep been there!

mine started off as a cold snuffly nose temp and a few aches .

after about a week it seemed to be going , only to come back with avengance as a gut wrenching rib breaking cough !

4 weeks now, I was off workfor a while , its was flipping awful !

still coughing now and then but on the mend at last

lots of fruit vitamin C and gallons of water !

but the one thing i did find that helped was pure honey with self squeezed orange and lemon jucie in a little hot water ! (the oldys are the best)

seemed to calm it down short term

hope this helps

As Snapper says, for me too!

A bloody Englishman must have slipped through the quarantine net at Passport Control and carried the germ up here!

I had it a couple of weeks ago. Started as a normal cold but that went after a few days and taking paracetamol regularly and plenty of fluids. I'd had a really tickly cough too and at times I sounded like I was choking and coughing and coughing away. I've still got it and its particularly bad as I get into bed and first thing in the morning, and then again once I've commuted and back into a warm environment.

I have been takng Benylin for tickly coughs. Its not curing it but soothes the symptoms. I thought it was just me but I might wander down the quacks and see what he says

I had something similar last winter. After about five weeks I finally went to the doctors as I was struggling to walk more than a few hundred yards without getting breathless.
The course of antibiotics did nothing to help so the doc gave me a course of steroids which did the trick.

They always said "feed a cold, starve a fever"

I say drown them both in Ruddles County - or Stella, works just as well.

At least then you don't care what you feel like.
