Not always. And the clubs that have a bar levy will be members clubs with the bar not a franchise

Then why have a levy when then money isn’t going into the clubNot always.
To support the franchise and the club pays them less retainer. Then why have a levy when then money isn’t going into the club
Seems a waste
Don’t think I have ever come across a levy like thatTo support the franchise and the club pays them less retainer.
I assume the clubs with £250 + levies that can be spent in the bar/restaurant and the Pro Shop all must own the Pro Shop too?Don’t think I have ever come across a levy like that
Any levy from members clubs around here is all money going back into the club
They do at the clubs im aware of with that high a levyI assume the clubs with £250 + levies that can be spent in the bar/restaurant and the Pro Shop all must own the Pro Shop too?
You dont put £250 across the bar in a year?Mental bar levy imo. I genuinely don’t think I’d get near that in a year would be dead money to me.
Considering I’m not a member anywhere at the moment no I don’tYou dont put £250 across the bar in a year?
Ok...thats fair enough.Considering I’m not a member anywhere at the moment no I don’t
I’m joining a new club in April when I move back home permanently. But even then I’d be very surprised if I put that much behind the bar. I don’t drink socially only the odd rum at home for personal enjoyment. My extent will be the odd coffee before/after a round and that’s about it. Based on the amount the club coffee machine I’m joining charges for a coffee I’d have to buy 166 of those to break even.
The only way I’m hitting that amount would be attending social functions and being able to attend those is dependant on my kids and what I’m working. So that high a levy definitely wouldn’t work for me and would be dead money, but I will support the club and the pro as often as I can.
Wow, that's a cheap coffee, our machine has went up to £2.Considering I’m not a member anywhere at the moment no I don’t

Coffee machine is £1.50 so yeah it’s pretty cheap. Even at £2 a coffee I’d have to drink loads.Wow, that's a cheap coffee, our machine has went up to £2.
Spent £6.50 today after the round, coffee and a hot chicken with stuffing and gravy sandwich which was the special at £5 but since I used my members card I got for £4.50
I easily spend more than £250 a year in the bar just buy buying a pint and some food after a round during the summer. Very rare for us to not stay for an hour after a round in the bar.
Wouldn't get close to it, neither would any of my pp even though we always stop after a round. None of us eat at the club, none of us drink beer there as we are all driving. You dont put £250 across the bar in a year?
My 2025 Spend...
Chocolate Bars: £42.10
Nuts & Crisps: £10.70
Bottled Water & Soft Drinks: £134.63
Hot Coffee/Chocolate: £67.51
Alcoholic Drinks: £704.79
Hot food: £133.91

As I said I don’t drink socially , I drive everywhere and that will include to and from the club. I won’t even have a single pint if I’m driving so again it’d be a coffee or at a push a soft drink.
I’m not saying 100% I wouldn’t spend £250 in a year if I attend functions or buy a round for playing partners. But with my work I can be away up to 127 days a year, hence why I’m not joining till April as I’m away now. So a big levy like that is absolutely of no use to me I’d be spending for the sake of it. As for staying after in the bar it would be rare for me to spend more than 30mins after due to getting back to spend time with my wife as her work hours and mine mean we don’t get any time in the week, if my kids are down for the weekends or even work patterns.
As I said I’ll support the club and pro as much as I can but a big levy just wouldn’t be beneficial for me.
