It happens to us all, im going through it now, i have came down between last season and this 7 strokes and was flying down to 16.3, set a target of 12....then the wheels came off, now i'm back to 16.8

Last two medals cant drive, Cant hit short irons cant hit chips and can just about putt.

Need to get the head down and work away, i know that in a few weeks it will all start to come back but its so bloody frustrating!!

Iknow exactly what im doing as well which is the worst thing, coming too far inside and swinging too fast, but every time i try to correct on the course i hit it fat or the unmentionable.

in the driving range its no problem its like i dont have a problem.

Im still doing the positive thinking but its hard when you are so down about your game

Anyway hours up thanks for your time and see you next week doctor?

It'll come good, it has to be gradual - two steps forward one back rather than relentlessly down the way.

I dropped from 16 to 9.7 last season but had a drift upwards towards the end of summer until I consolidated at the lower handicap and learned to play to it before coming down again.

This year I'm playing better but have only managed one cut - to 8.3 before drifting back to 8.8. Have been a bit unlucky, a few rounds to handicap or buffer, one terrible round and the rest just 1 or 2 outside buffer. Trying not to put too much pressure on - have played in bad conditions and at away courses so that's going to be tougher - another low round is coming.....

I'm going through similar myself fella!

Had a silly start to the season and played like a man possessed, going from 20 to 15 in a few weeks. Since then I have lost the consistency that I had during that spell, but am still playing some good golf, just not for 18 holes :-( In the space of 24 hours I have played our front 9 in +3 and +13 (the latter being in a Medal....grrrrr)!

However, I am reminding myself that I have to take the rough with the smooth and am not rushing to change much, as for the most part I'm playing solid stuff. The problem at the mo is that I can't play a round without throwing a few bad holes in. In Sunday's Medal I came 4th in my division with a nett 72 (par 70). I had three 'bad' holes, and in hindsight all 3 were down to rushing, or not concentrating and I should've scored a lot lower.

It will change though....soon....I hope!

If you look at pretty much everyone's graph on HDID for their handicap it shows a massive drop followed by a period of 0.1s back up then another cliff face followed by another series of 0.1s back again.

It takes time to make changes stick, they come and go before suddenly all the hard work pays off and you make another leap forward.

I bet the few who differ from this are in the minority

I was the same at the back end of last year, dropped from 11 to 7 but then finished the season with 6 0.1's in the last 7 comps.
This year so far I'm back scoring well again, but I'm aware that another bad run can happen, it's just one of those things.

You just have to remember it's just a blip and it will come back.

Feel your pain ... look at sig below ,matched my lowest ever then up & up throw in a couple of buffers & back up to 9 .. 8.2&8.3 were both for 36 points , scores were so high CSS went to 39pts .. aaagh

We all have it and im having it now, last 3 comps seen me get a hold 3 times despite having a 9 on my card in one medal and a 10 in the other and plenty double bogeys too. 2 weeks ago I had 9 pars, 6 double bogeys and 3 bogeys. That is mental stuff.

Playing off 16 when capable of 12 is soul destroying but hey it will click in time.

Frustrating to say the least.
