Anchored or Not?

Should the anchoring of putters be banned?

Advantage maybe .. how is it unfair ? it open to all

Why not ban these wedges as well while you're at it, tell those that struggle to get out of bunkers that they should spend more time practicing with a conventional sand wedge?

You're moving away from the subject, what people do in bunkers is not in question, the swing remains the same.

As per the original topic, the belly and broomhandled putter provide an advantage as they are anchored and offer a fundamentally different swing style which aids the player, due to their inability to sucessfully use a normal putter.

in your opinion !:D

.... which key, because there is no proof either way, this could be a long thread

I don't care for the use of a long putter, I've tried on once, it felt ok.

If they were such an advantage everyone would use one, as they are perfectly legal at the current time.

dont really want to get back into this thread but that argument isn't really correct. IMO the anchored putter doesn't provide an advantage to everyone. A good putter will not see an advantage in using them. Where the anchored putter does provide an advantage (IMO) is to the yippy/less confident putter. It allows a more controlled strike due to its 3rd point of contact.

All of this is MY OPINION, and should not be taken as anything other than this.

you have a point re it being more of an advantage to some

dont really want to get back into this thread

this I agree with more though, I'm losing the will to live, I don't even use one

can't type anymore on the subje........
