Up to now - after the first round anyway - it's been a decent return to action. He's going to need to get a whole lot better if he's going to trouble the Majors again.

Finishing 7 under having had 19 birdies tells the story. There's clearly something in there that works and I'm sure he'll take a lot of confidence from the week but there are also some truly horrible swings in there which he will need to eradicate if he is to contend again.

It's still too early to judge him at the moment but there were encouraging signs and I for one wouldn't bet against him winning again
