Amy Winehouse is found Dead!

The simple fact is that creativity often comes with a destructive streak. Just look at Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Sid Vicious, the list goes on. How many more were lucky not to go the same way, Iggy Pop, Ozzy Osbourne in fact just about any act that has made a decent album in the last 40 years. Drugs and rock and roll will always be together and there will always be victims.

According to Wiki - "Meh" is an interjection, often used as an expression of apathy, indifference, or boredom. However, it can also be used to indicate agreement or disagreement.

HTH

Confused of Bromley :D :D

:D

Slightly interesting point is that she died at the age of 27, which is seen as some sort of mystical age for rock stars to die. Jimmi Hendrix, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Kurt Kobain and Jim Morrison all died at 27 and became members of what is known as the 27 Club. Seems like it just got another member.

I paid good money to see her about 3 or 4 years ago. She was drunk and drugged up to the eyeballs and gave a totally unprofessional and frankly crap gig.

Shame, but it was an accident waiting to happen

I think that part of the problem with these young talented arty types is that they have so much spare time without any structure to their lives, and they attract the wrong type of hangers on who lead them astray.

You only have to look at some footballers who have the same issues of fame, money, spare time although they dont do drugs because of the testing regeime

maybe she should have taken up Golf, its a great time filler

Having said that I have little sympathy for anyone who wants to flush their lives down the toilet,

Fragger

Who gives a flying feck?

Not me,another junkie less for society to be laden with.

Bingo.

I feel for her family but she's been an utter waste of air for years now. She knew the consequences of being a smack head.

Am I just being cynical but why the fuss. She lost any talent she had years ago and has been unable to perform or record properly as shes always drunk or high. No real sympathy apart for her parents and loved ones left behind. Another muso that didn't know when to stop.

Such a sad lack of humanity.

She had a truly beautiful voice. We should pity those like her, who never seem to grasp how to be happy, and be thankful if we are lucky enough not to share their doom.

I would love to have 1% of the talent she had and don't disagree that when she burst onto the scene she had an captivating voice. However I can't conjour up any sympathy for someone that knew she was killing herself and continued to do so despite professional help. We are all responsible for our own actions at the end of the day and so if you play with drink and drugs accept the consequences. It's those in Africa and Norway that have no say about dying needlessly or without warning who get my sympathy

Aren't you the same Homer who regaled us with stories of nearly drinkng himself into an early grave?

Hypocrite or what?

An overrated bone marrow thief.

All the sympathy in the world for her parents and family, but when someone with that sort of dosh denied all the professional help that is on offer - they can blow me.

You can't help those who don't want to be helped and she was a lost cause a long time ago.

As others have stated, the real tragedies of July are in Africa and Norway - but, as expected from braindead Britain, a celebrity has grabbed the headlines.

No, Africa has been main headline for the apst 2 weeks, and the main headline on all news shows yesterday was Norway. Quite rightly. Irrespective of whether you like her or not, disapprove of her lifestyle or not, this is not a question of whose death should be on the news.

I didnt see all of the naysayers on here complaining that some famous sportsbloke (not even really a aport is it) had a load of affairs which is his own silly fault and why was our forum space taken up with un-newsworthy news about someone who should have known better. Who are the celebrity junkies now ??? be careful who is being called hypocrites and braindead here

Reports she took a bad ecstasy tablet.....I wasn't aware that there are good ones.

I struggle to understand folk that show any sort on empathy for someone who chooses to kill themselves, all this RIP pish for junkies gets right on my tits.

To play devils advocate, aren't addicts seen as 'sick' now?

Alcoholics, drug addicts, etc - they're sick.

The loss of any human life - whether self induced or an act of God - is sad. End of.

Hang about, I didn't, nor wouldn't, say anything about somebody having an affair - that's just another example of unimportant crap grabbing the headlines and airwaves.

I turned on Sky News a handful of times yesterday afternoon/evening and this morning, and each time, I had the eroded face of Amy chuffing Winehouse gawping back at me.

It's utter tonk. I want Sky News to inform me about the economy and the bailout for Greece, how that's going to effect the taxpayers pound in the future - not how some smackhead got herself over excited at long last.

The celeb junkies, the mass morons of Britain, the sort who need Britain's Got Talent and bloody X-Factor to get them through each week make up far too much of the population.

Just my opinion of course.

I'd argue they're only 'sick' if they get 'treated' for it.

To deny all the professional help that was put on a plate for her doesn't make her sick - it made her an idiot.

Indeed but having come perilously close to dying and being told to stop I did exactly that and therein lies the difference. How many times did she do rehab etc and still turned up to perform drunk and high. I changed so don't actually see the hypocrisy

I'd watch out - making gross unsubstantiated assumptions about the thoughts of the mass morons of Britain, based on your own singular interpretation of the television programmes you occasioanlly watch, might be considered a tad moronic by some.

But not me, of course ;)
