Back from a great day at Bushey Hall courtesy of PieMan, nice established course with a friendly clubhouse.
Playing with three superb ball strikers in PieMan, JustOne and Fundy, I’m not worthy.

PieMan and JustOne taking on Fundy and me in 4BBB matchplay.
Started well for us with my stroke on the first being enough for the hole and the par 4 second halved in three by PieMan and Fundy, seesawed for a while after that but then the home boys took a three hole lead just after the turn.
We looked like getting one back at the long par 4 13[SUP]th[/SUP] but when JustOne rolled in a long putt for par it was as Fundy said, like a dagger in the heart.
We won the next two to pull it back to one down but things went pear shaped after that and we lost the match on the par 3 17[SUP]th[/SUP] where, despite hitting great tee shots, me and Fundy ended up in the rushes on the edge of the pond short of the hole, still can’t see how it happened!

Really enjoyed the day though and thanks again fellas, if you ever want a return at my course let me know, it’s pretty open and should present quite a few opportunities for driver off the tee!

Just home from having dinner, was a fun day.

For the second day in the row Ive handed over a fiver to a forumite - time for me to head to the range I think (nah make that the chipping green!).

Many thanks to Pieman and Justone for having us today, we almost made a game of it until I made a horlicks of the 16th from greenside! As Crow says, just dont understand 17 at all.

Today for me summed up everything that is good about this forum, 4 of us came from far and wide and had a great match around a decent golf course, and a beer with Murph afterwards :)

Thanks to Crow for putting up with me (I know I'm no Region!), we started far too well at the first and despite turning in level par it all got a bit scruffy from me on the back half, and they just made too many birdies.

As mentioned, the return invite is always open, certainly be good to get a rematch

Thanks for the game guys, winning is always so much fun :)

Don't think I played particularly well, too many mishits in there but (fortunately) few enough to contribute when necessary. Was a pleasure to meet/play with you both. Win or lose NOTHING beats joining up with fellow enthusiastic golfers from the forum, it's days out like that which have stopped me packing up the game altogether. Well played both of you, some nice shots were played throughout the round by all.

Big thumbs up to Pieman's wife who made us some sarnies on the 6th (how cool is that?) and to Murphthemog and RickG who both took the time to come down to the clubhouse for a few beers afterwards - awesome guys and much appreciated!

Thanks for the game Pieman........ (am available next Friday).

Shame I missed the golf, but always nice to see a few faces. Can't do next Friday either, I've got a job. Unlike some. One that involves turning up, rather than claiming to go in at half four, so I can get away early. Honestly, some people......

Fundy and Nick, sorry I got there just too late to catch you, (Fundy probably sick of seeing me anyway after Thursday.. :D).

Anyway, like James said, it's just great to meet up and chew the fat with like minded people.........

James, Paul, I think I might be all right for Friday.......do you want to come over to mine or have you got something sorted allready?

No problem Rick, we were cutting it fine but we got away just in time.

Hopefully catch up at at the Whipperfarts meet if not before.
