Hi forum,I am about to join Alyth after much faffing about, and I wondered if any of you good folk have played it or are any of you members? Any tips? Cheers!

Played it on a golfing trip. The course was great, as was the welcome.

Hope you enjoy it and have many happy years there.

Cheers Hobbit,it's a great track eh? Only played it once and found it hard but fair and the greens are quality! Should be a proud member in a week or so,can't wait!

We have unsettled business old boy! You will get an invite for sure mate, not played much golf in the last year but I am right back into it.I am looking to play twice a week, get the handicap sorted asap, and enjoy a friendly round with a bunch of you nice people, cheers.

Sounds good mate. Give me a shout once you're settled in and sorted out and we'll hook up for a game and a pint!

Played it on numerous occasions and never been disappointed, was close to joining a few years back and only thing that stopped me was the travelling involved.
You will enjoy it.

Visited Scotland in the mid 90's for a week, had no idea where we were going to play as I didn't know the area we were staying in. I picked up the AA guide to golf courses and just picked 6 that "sounded nice!". Alyth was one of them and I have to be honest, it was one of the better courses we played that week.
We had 36 holes there and although it was over 15 years ago I can still remember quite a few of them we enjoyed ourselves that much.
Was in very good condition if I remember rightly and had a nice variety of holes.
If I were ever in the area again I would definitely play it again. Holds a lot of good memories for me that course.

Play it every year Deke on out annual trip to Perthshire (8 yrs now), great course, challenging, excellent condition, clubhouse facilities are great, as are the staff, and really helpful pro shop staff as well. Got a funny feeling your going to enjoy it mate.

:whoo:

Thanks for all your posts chaps! I am sending in my application today, wish me luck! I am really glad I moved to Perthshire, you are spoiled for choice for good nearby courses, happy days!
