Q- is one allowed to make any changes to his score card after his marker has signed the card and without his knowledge.

ie: player unaware his handicap has increased and records/plays off a lower amount, can he or anyone change this after the round has been completed.

I'd guess so, your marker is attesting to the score, not your handicap.

If you were changing a score for a hole then a different kettle of fish.

Agreed. Rule 3.3b(1) states the responsibility of the marker as being to certify scores; 3.3b(2) states that the player must not change a score without his marker's or the Committee's approval ; and 3.3b(4) states the player's responsibility to have the correct handicap on his card.

makes sense but many years ago I forgot to put any hcap on the card which was pointed out after handing it in and had to play off scratch as thats what I`d signed for, if one states too high a hcap why dq them and not similarly just correct the card in medal rounds.

thanks for directing to applicable rule, 3.3b (4) states (if I`ve read it right) that the hcap on the card applies not his actual one. ?
