an interesting thread in more than one way!
FWIW I voted yes
I haven't been fitted for all my clubs but have been working with the guys in the Performance Centre at Urban Golf on my driver to get more distance out of it as my relative lack of length (I tend to hit it very straight) does put a bit of undue pressure on my long game
What they found out was that I was putting far too much spin on the ball which was robbing me of distance. The main reason for that was that the shaft in my driver wasn't suitable for the way I swing the club.
I really like to 'feel' the head of the driver through the back swing and especially at the top and wasn't prepared to compromise on that so it was a case of trying to find a shaft that would put less spin on the ball but still feel good.
We also changed the loft of the club by a degree and the other thing they did was to switch me into a low spinning ball - the results have been good with an extra 15-20 yards
I guess if it works for you then it's a good thing!
