Am really struggling with this at the moment. Have had a couple of lessons and our pro basically gave me a few ideas like picking a spot 3 feet in front of you and lining up your club head against this. Still cant get the feel though and end up aiming way right. Have just been and got some orange canes to help! Does anybody have any good drills to help me out?

When I work on alignment I pick out targets at both sides of the range. I setup up by placing the shaft of your club across the shoulders so it points 10 yards left of target (7 iron) then hit the shot. I like to do this before shots on the course also.

For me it's my feet, I can align the club head but my feet end up pointing me right and closing my shoulders. The after lesson I aim too far left as got more comfortable in alignment but part of brain goes aim left aim left!!

When i started i was told to stand over the ball and hold the club in line with my toes and the club will point towards your target. This worked great for me,although it takes time over every shot. I dont need it now so id say it worked pretty well.

hope this helps!!!!!!

I have a nasty habit of closing my left shoulder so it points way right of target. I usually have to get my pro or HID if she is in a helpful mood to stand with an alignment stick pointing correctly and work on setting myself up square again. It is basically an old habit I need to constantly be vigilant about.

I was under the impression that your feet/shoulders etc are supposed to be on a line parallel to ball --> target?

That would mean you line up your feet and shoulders as far left as your ball is away from you.

I've just done some silly maths, but rather than take this off topic I'll start a new thread. :)
