Have just watched a gm clip about first tee nerves. During his routine I noticed that he set up by aiming with only his right hand on the club .
Something like this :

I have been shown this in a lesson before but prefer to set up with the left hand first as it helps me get my correct distance from the ball.

Should I go back to this ?

It's whatever makes you comfortable. Why don't you just go out for a practice round on your own. Do the front 9 one way, then the back 9 the other. See what works for you and which you are happiest with. Possibly even try this over a few rounds, but once you've made a decision, I'd urge you to stick with it.

I tend to follow a set up that I saw in a vid the The Coach posted (least I think it was him), which also tries to get your posture correct.

I always set up with my right hand on the club and putting it behind the ball. Take my stance and then add the left hand interlocking the right. Never have any issues with being too far away and comfy the face is square
