Advice on getting fitted for irons

So had a trip out to direct golf yesterday with a pal (off 5) who wanted to get fitted for some TM Speedblades anyway he has a swing speed of 88/89 he was told he needed stiff over reg his lie was perfect so no adjustment was needed to the clubs........So like ya do I asked can I have a mot while I'm here please! I have the same swing speed 88 (I currently play with g25 black dot with reg shafts) so I was told I need stiff and also my lie need to be adjusted to 1,5 up right (yellow if ping) should I just bin the pings and get some speedblades too? I like the irons they look very ping looking and feel great plus I can get 4-pw for £286 which I feel is a great deal I've looked for used pings with stiff and yellow dot but its rare to drop on All advice would be great

you swinging any harder than usual to keep up with your pal? does the fitter have a good rep? were you not fitted for the pings first off?

Pings are good clubs and there are some bargains to be had on ebay.
They can also be bent so even if you bought a set that wasn't your spec you can
get them adjusted.
