Adjustable Flight Technology, Does it work?

Specifically on the Cobra AMP.

I have a cobra amp 10.5 Stiff shaft driver. It has the adjustable flight technology (aft) built in. There are 3 settings Open, Closed and Neutral.

When I bought the driver the guy at Direct Golf placed the driver in the closed position and and I was hitting it fairly well. Out on the course was a different matter. After a few nights at the driving range I am beginning to straighten out my left to right movement of the ball.

But out on the course I am still getting a left to right. Some times its not very noticeable and other times I can travel the entire width of the fairway (l>r).

OK back to the question. How exactly does the AFT work. Looking at the fitting on the driver (shaft to head) there is no difference in the O,C,N teeth where they meet the driver head. Also there is no noticeable difference in the face setting at address.

After being out tonight I was playing around with my grip and also turning the fact slightly closed at address. On my practice swings I was stopping in the centre and the face was neutral (or what looked like it) I was reading on the internet that an open face at impact causes the left to right movement of the ball.

Sorry for the long winded post but just curious if the AFT actually does what it says.

I have my driver closed and cranked down, it won't stop you slicing it if your path is all over the place though. I assume at direct golf it was giving you better numbers in regards spin and distance, so stick with it. An open face doesn't cause a slice it depends on your club path. For example you hit a true draw with a technically open club face, however it doesn't feel that way when your doing it.

I am not a fan of AFT. I am too much of a tinkerer and would constantly be trying to change the set up at the first sign of a bad shot. Can't be the indian right? That said if you can get a club fitted as the guys on here that went to the TM day for example and then can be strong enough not to change it then I can see how you can get the optimum performance for your swing. As this AFT is clearly the way forward I guess at some point I'm going to have to bite the bullet

Well I sometimes 8-9/14 holes get a good result with my driver on closed.

But what I don't quite understand is how it works when the shaft to head fitting looks exactly the same no matter where you set it.

From I what I can see the first effort of aft by cobra was a bit of a fail, in respect that open close and neutral can be cone by how you grip the club, you don't need an adjustable shaft to do this,

However their second generation version on the amp cell stuff is a lot more tuneable in relation to other tech on the market from companies like TM, Titleist and so on where you can crank the loft and face angle.

,I've always run mine on neutral, that way any stinky result are operators error only,

That sounds like the best advice. I think most of my issue is down to bad swing path (which i need to work on) and my grip was rather weak.

I have sorted my grip, but need to work on the swing path
