I've been given an email address to use which I was told has been set up through their Gmail account but is not addressed as Gmail! I have gone into my Gmail settings and found the link to add another email address I own (I have the new email address & password) but it never acknowledges it? I have also attempted to add a POP3 mail account and again, it doesn't accept it?

Am I missing something obvious before I become a pain and have to go back to them and declare my uselessness?

There is also a slight anomaly with being asked for a "username" which I have tried various names but I don't think that's too relevant to get the email activated!?

Any help will be gladly appreciated, even if it means talking it through over the phone if needed.

Thank you

Sorry Fish I for one didn't understand the question. Who gave you what email? What extension did it have on the email they gave you?

It appears to be a valid email address Fish. Have you read through the gmail trouble shooter?

Thanks, pretty much been through all that before. I think the issue is their (the creator of the emails) end as I've followed it to the letter to no avail!

I've let them know now so I'm awaiting their response.

Thanks anyway mate

I did exactly the same last week as I was having issues with the reliability of my old email provider so I was advised to switch to Gmail.

I was simply had my old email address switched over and once done I was provided with a User Name (was just my existing email) and a Password. The extension was still my existing domain name and not a Gmail one or anything.

This is the email they sent me, not sure if it's any use?

This is to confirm the email setup to enterprise class email has now been completed on the domain *************.com

to access the administration please login to the following link : "http://www.google.com/enterprise/apps/business/" then click on the sign in link on the top right corner type in your domain *************.com and then click go.

user: TBC@*************.com
pass: ************* (please update this password)

I have added the info@ account to the 'users' section and to access please login above and in the user section select the info@ account > account > show temporary password

To add additional users see this guide : https://support.google.com/a/answer/33310?hl=en

Over all guide on how to get started on the account is on this link : https://support.google.com/a/?hl=en
