On what actual evidence are you able to provide to support that statement?
I had a Ball Fitting that included the both hard and soft balls - including the Pro V1x, which was shorter than softer balls. I was told that was pretty typical - as it was 'too hard for my swing speed'!

I use the AD333 in the winter when you need to hit the ball firmer on the greens. In summer, I have always had to swap from the AD333 as I have found my putting goes off on the quicker greens when using them. I have now tried the AD333 Tour and found them to be excellent on our faster greens.
As usual though, everyone keeps giving me PRO V1 s that they have found as they prefer not to use them ! I give them a choice of whatever I have found. Seems like a good deal to me.

I played with the AD333 Spin Skin last night in a match for the very first time, I probably drove the most consistent for a long time and a little longer, especially with the strong 3w much to the annoyance of the Cat1 player I was against!
The biggest difference I felt was around the greens, I came out the bunkers (3) much better and my chipping, which I have always thought of a strong part of my game, was even better, chipping in for pars and halving holes he was birdieing, again much to his annoyance.
I think from my SLDR fitting at the Belfry on Friday my swing speed was 96mph but I can't remember my 'smash factor', but I think it was 1.7 or 1.8! So, it would seem after playing the Z Stars for quite a long time along with the Hex Blacks, these AD333's not only suit my specific game much more currently but more importantly, they can be purchased for HALF the cost of Z Stars & Hex Blacks!

@Fish. Smash Factor (with Driver) max is 1.5 - CoR/CT limit means it can't go above that. Ball fitting, as such, should be based on swing speed rather than ball speed as, unless you were swing untypically too fast, centred strikes will produce higher ball speeds for the same swing speed. If you swing 'untypically fast', as can happen, then the ball speeds will be much lower than 'normal, centred' strikes. That's why the 'swing better, not faster' expression is so true!

That probably sums up what I felt with the AD333 Tour as well Fish, my driving seemed much straighter than even with a Bridgestone E6, the "Straight" Ball.

Seems to me you've been caught (sucked in?) by Titleist's marketing approach - rather more subtle than TM's. And the Titleist website is part of their Marketing!
To claim that the whole (note the 'W') swing speed thing is BS is, well, BS! Like shaft fitting, it's not the be all/end all but, again like shaft fitting, is a sensible place to start!

Fish, glad you liked them. Good to get some use out of them as I'll probably be a AD333 Tour user for a while now. Still got a few dozen ad333 left in the garage though

The swing speed is the correct point to start at because if the smash factor is assumed to be at its best then the compression will dictate the balls performance. The compression is based on the energy imparted and released, small compression equals little storage. The ball companies are making multiple compression layers because they know that the ball needs to be compressed through a range, one layer will only perform optimally for one swingspeed. The point of the 5 layers in the original penta was good, but if you could make a layer that compressed fully between a swing speed range of 70-90mph you would cover most peoples irons and fairways, then another layer that was 50-70mph and that would be wedge play ...

Got my hands on a sleeve today.
Was really impressed with them, have been playing Z-Stars and 330RX lately.
Found them longer off the tee but i'm not the fastest swinger my driver ss is 90ish. They felt nice round the greens too the only thing I did not putt well but I do think that was me not the ball as they felt good off the putter.
One of my regular pp's had a hit with one and said he still preferred his Z-Star, normally I do not drive as far as him but quite a few times today I went past him.
If you get a chance well worth a go.
