AD333 Tour Golf Ball

Isn't the AD333 Tour supposed to be the rival or Srixon equivalent to the Titleist NXT balls? The Tour and the NXT have pretty much the same price point.

NXT are overpriced IMO.
The srixon should be a much better ball since it has the urethane cover for much more spin around the greens.

Because it isn't the same as the original AD333 but still a cheaper RRP than a Z star. Some of those Z star offers relate to the older incarnation (getting rid of surplus stock). At the end of the day, I was pleasantly surprised and went out thinking it was going to be firm (thin most Cally incarnations including some of their top end offerings) but it wasn't. Definitely worth looking at again after I hit it at Ascot this week and see if they do stop on the greens.

fair enogh, I just dont really see how it fits in or compliments the existing range of srixon balls.

I quite liked the Srixon Soft Feel in the green box which are around £17 a dozen. I never liked the old AD333 and wouldn't have considered trying the new ones as I assumed they were a rebranding of the old ones, not, for me, the best marketing ploy!

I find an awful lot of Srixon Soft Feel when walking the dog on the golf course up the road... Usually just after a seniors roll up..

AD333 2 Piece 'Best Value'
AD333 Tour 3 Piece Performance with 'Good Value'
Z-Star Premium Performance and Price

It's highly likely that, for most of us, this or the NXT Tour/S or equivalent are the optimum ball, but egos/ambition get in the way!

NXT Tour S works well for me. Callaway SR1 works fine too!

It's a cracking ball, better than the zstar, callie sr2 and nxt tour IMO.

It's sits behind the zstar as it's designed for an amateur swing speed.

Agree the ad333 name may confuse some, but the ball itself is a cracker

Just to add to the confusion, where does the tri speed fit into all this or are they now discontinued. I liked them and thought that they filled the gap between ad333 and zstar

So where does the new spin skin AD333 sit, it now has the same cover as the Z Star but is obviously a 2-piece, has that replaced the 'standard' AD333?

I found a Callaway Super Soft on Saturday and played the last 3 holes with it, very impressed, in fact it held the greens more than my previous Stars did dunno.gif

The new AD333 Tour is a 3 piece not a 2 piece. They still manufacture the AD333 which is the two piece model and this a different model akin to the NXT and designed to sit just behind their Z star. I agree that they perhaps should have come up with a different name though as it is confusing

You had the Srixon AD333 2013 model, which got upgraded to the AD333 2014 model with spin skin, they [Srixon] then brought out the AD333 Tour to compete at a similar price to the Titleist NXT Tour and Tour S

I've never used AD333 balls before but I have some spin skin one's (36) so just wondered what their previous was as I have used either Z Stars or Hex Blacks before but I'm starting to believe that a softer ball suits me more.

I never said it was, I was referring to and asking about the 'spin skin' and where that sat in the range.

just for you Robin:thup:

it looks like spin skin is their new patented cover on all the balls, even the soft feel lady Chris

I did the online ball fitting, according to the ball I may play otherwise I'm a ad333 tour, according to my 6 iron distance I'm a soft feel Lady :whoo:

i used to use sf lady, when i 1st started out, damn good balls, till they start floating up n up n up, then its time to change lol

Ad333 with spin skin does not have the same cover as a zstar. It is still a surlyn cover. Spin skin is some kind of coating they are now putting on them all.

I have no idea about what price they should/shouldn't be, or where they sit in the different ranges, but my pro shop had a "buy 3, get two free" deal on this weekend, so i decided to buy them to try.

Absolutely loved them, didn't go too wild off the tee (unless I was just having a lucky day), stayed white through 27 holes (before I eventually lost it), and felt really nice chipping and putting with them.

I am used to cheaper 2 piece balls, I will admit, but if I can find some deals on these, I'm likely going to stock up, as I really liked them.

It may be however that it seemed to be the luckiest ball I've had, as before I eventually stuck it in a lake, I found it 4 times in deep rough, where normally it's a guaranteed lost ball. So I may be slightly biased by the balls inate ability to appear when you've all but given up hope.
