AAARRRGGGGGHHHHH.....this stupid game

all jobs finished early, bit of spare time so down to the range for a quick 100. Why I bothered I dont know absolutely awful couldnt use a single club and most fustrating of all I was getting top spin on my drives and they kept dipping down at the 22oyd mark.I tried shorter tee,longer tee,ball further forward,further back.... nothing made a difference .PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me how to avoid top spin.......never had it on the course before....aaarrrgggggghhhhhh.

It is next to impossible to put top spin on a ball. It would go about 20 yards, not 220. Think of a top spun shot at tennis, it doesn't go the length of the court.

However, you can hit your shots better with a driver by loading 65% of your weight on your back leg, and then hitting up into the ball (remembering to transfer the weight to the front foot, but not by lurching downwards). This removes some of the spin, and gives a nicer launch.

Did you have a nice slow tempo?

Were you swinging easy?

Or flailing away at it with frustration.

Sometimes it just isn't there what ever you do. Just leave it a day, and see what happens.
