AA Lithium batteries

The AA lithium batteries are 3V so if you use two in a device you also need a dummy battery and you need to have a lithium battery charger.

They are exactly the same batteries that make up the power packs for things like drills.

Really? I thought you used them just like a normal battery.

I had assumed you were looking at rechargeable lithium batteries.

Thanks been a while since I last looked at switching to Lithium.

I bought some very high amp hour alkalines last time (2850) and find I get good enough life from them for my purposes eg my GPS does 3 rounds between charges.

Last time I looked for them a few ago, there was no such thing as a rechargeable lithium AA battery, for the very good reason that it would be far too easy to accidentally try and charge them in a NiCad/NMh charger with consequent risk of fire/explosion.

Are they now available?
