Played it twice before in the same week (March 1991).
First time we turned up, it had to be the windiest day I have ever (ever) tried to play golf in my life. We only managed 13 holes and had to walk in.
But we were so impressed with what we saw that we cancelled where we were playing 3 days later and went back for another crack. It's a superb course.
And we came the nearest to getting a hole in one on any of our trips.
Mate of mine hit a lovely shot off the 3rd tee, half a roll more and it would have dropped.
Would love to play it again if I ever found my way up there. But not in wind like that first visit.

Never played the course however its some boast by your pro, "probably the hardest inward nine in Scotland". Having been lucky enough to play Royal Troon it'll need to go some to beat Troons back 9 which is brutal! Absolutely brutal, never played a tougher back 9 anywhere including Carnoustie!

I think that Jacky has added some curry powder to that claim !
Aye it can be tough if the wind is a north westerly but is the toughest in Scotland overall??No chance.

I would say 3 or 4 holes are tough, another couple are toughish while the rest you can balls up easy enough.
