Has your mood lightened now (hopefully) we have the ability to book a time and play a game?
I know mine has massively, and cant wait until Thursday morning:)

I was actually going to give it a week but my mate booked us in for tomorrow and Saturday.

My mood has been fairly light most of the time as I have got a lot of jobs done that I had been putting to one side and just enough social interaction to stop the demons from coming out.

It's crazy how peoples perceptions change. If somebody told you 2 months ago that this summer you could only play 9 holes of social golf in 2balls with no competitions you would have gone nuts. Now it is like a gift from the Gods!

I am looking forward to playing again but having hit some balls into a net today that excitement at the opportunity as been severely tempered. I think I am going to need some serious time on the practice ground as I seem to have forgotten everything about swinging the club resembling something approaching functionally. As we are booking two days in advance I have time before Thursday and the decision to play or not on Saturday

The vast majority are going to play shoite, chill out and enjoy being on the course.

You’ve been playing golf for 40 years, how much could have gone wrong in 6 weeks?

My mood has certainly lifted, playing tomorrow pm. Looking forward to it?

I worry you are overthinking things.
Just enjoy the fresh air, the views, the smell of cut grass and rely on instincts.

Worrying about bad form can return in a bit ?

Just chill out and enjoy it and remember there are still loads on here who don't know when their courses will be open again. Nobody cares if you shoot 75 or 105.

It was pretty awful though. I dread to think where some of the shots would have ended up had they been on the course. I'd rather be able to go out and play competently rather than absolutely chop it around. Can't see too much enjoyment in it
Why are you posting on this thread then ? It is titled ‘a ray of sunshine’ ?

Aren't most of us going to be in a similar place?
I haven't struck a ball since lockdown but I don't care, I'm just glad I'm going to be back on the course Thursday AM. I'm just sorry we can't all play again and as we used to.

Up to a point I agree but I'd also like to play with a modicum of ability especially if I get paired with someone I've not played with before. Don't want to spoil their game chopping it around

I'm playing with one of my best mates, two others just behind. None of us has swung a club for nearly 2 months.... what could possibly go wrong...
We've already booked in the post round whatsapp beers to share the pain/joy.
It's going to be both the worst and best round (well, 9) for a long time.

We can choose who we book to play with. However they like me are in exactly the same boat.
Life's too short, and the virus won't discriminate who it takes.
Just be glad to be able to play.

As I'm working until 3.00pm I'm putting my name down for one of the last times. If no-one else books alongside then yes I can go out on my own and so if I chop it then so be it, especially as there won't be too many left going out behind me. I'm just concerned that a random member will fancy some company and I guess it's that feeling of embarrassing yourself in new company that worries me. Simply the way I am
