A question for crib experts.

Just playing crib and came across this scenario and not sure of correct score.
Had 3 aces and an 8 with another ace on the top of pack.
We thought it scored 12?
Any help much appreciated.

Thanks, sometimes with cards like that you start to second guess. Plus we're all tired after a long walk up the Dane, along very muddy tracks and stopped at the Wrincle Brewery for refreshments on the borders of Staffordshire and Cheshire.

Any 4 of a kind scores 12 without combining with any other cards to score runs and 15s. The 4 cards can form 6 pairs @ 2 points each.
