Sometimes on the forum people come along asking questions or needing help with their game and lots of well meaning folk try and help and answer their questions. Some are thankful and some you don't hear from for months until they have another problem.

So, last week I was pleased to receive a pm from a forum member who shall remain nameless (his choice) thanking me for tips I've given... especially the headcover drill and the chipping videos.
Apparently, he's worked hard at his game and the tips have helped him a lot. He now drives the ball much straighter and his short game has improved tremendously. He just wanted to thank me for helping him enjoy his golf more which I thought was very nice .

it's nice to know that my waffle does help some folk and that I can make a difference to someone's game in a positive way.
Good old forum :)

As i said, he wants to remain nameless and I'll respect that but you know who you are so thank you.
And finally, a big thank you from my many offspring who, thanks to your kind donation to my paypal, will find food on the table once again.

Thanks mate

P.S.
It wasn't Smiffy

A public thank you to thank a private thank you, will he private thank you again for the public thanking of his private thanking  I hope you private thanked him as well:whistle:

Seriously though it's nice to be recognised:thup:

Bob, I am sure all of your advice and tips is appreciated by the vast majority on here. The fact you take the time and show a willingness to help others for no gain to yourself other than helping others.

Taking time at Woodhall to highlight some (of my many) issues helped a lot and prompted me to take a lesson.

Keep up the good work

Agreed - a rare generosity and always very much appreciated.

I can add my thanks to Bobmac for his input. I read his tips whenever they appear and they always make sense...I just have difficulty implementing them> What is this 'practice' tip? I thought all you had to do was visualise a great shot and (one day) it will happen.

Thanks for your input Bob.

Haha brilliant!

I have to hold my hand up and drop my head in shame. I'm one that has benefitted from the sagely old pro we all know and admire both online and privately and have often been tardy in recognising his support and time given. Can I make a very late and apologetic BIG THANK YOU to Bob for his efforts

I am always thankful for the advice I get from you bob, I tend to be one of those who come back after months and this is a) because I like to only work on one thing at a time and b) I expected you would not want to be inundated with my questions.

Bottom line, you the man!!!

Alex

And the first inductee into the Golf Monthly Forum Hall of Fame is................................................bobmac for his helpful tuition and constant mickey taking of smiffy.

For that sir, we salute you!!

You know you are quite right to post this, it's often overlooked that advice is posted and you never hear back whether it helped or hindered.

The fact of the matter is though there are a few people on this forum to contribute quality advice very rapidly after a post is made, for free and for the benefit of others.

I wish to offer my thanks to all who have offered tips on this forum in any form, I frequently read other threads and try tips out from those and I feel my game is improving as a result - I just hope the handicap can follow now we are fully into medal season!

Great to hear that Bob. Must admit I sometime wonder where you find the time, for all the hackers on here (Include myself here). Silly but I worry before I PM Bob, in case he is busy. But top marks for a top man. You are really appreciated by everyone here. Now wheres that sick bag!!
