Following my help from Bob and a slight change to my technique i have found a good at home drill

Get two golf balls and place them approx 2ft apart play the first ball trying to gently touch the second ball

As you make your first putt and touch the ball at the correct pace the second target ball will move back a few inches as you bump into it

Keep this up as long as you do not miss a single shot, if you do start again

Soon you will get further away from the other ball and room for error increases.

As you are playing to a ball the target is small and it helps you focus your aim and will show up technique errors.

Found this more interesting than playing to a cup

Sounds good I will have a crack at it. At the mo I'm doing this one which I found:

Here is a game to improve your accuracy on putting distances. This can be a 1 player game which can easily be adapted for two or more.

1.)*** Create as many boxes as possible, depending on the space available, by arranging tees 1 foot by 2 feet apart one behind the other. The number of boxes will determine how many balls you will use in this game. For example, If you have 4 boxes then you should be using 4 balls.
2.)*** Have your starting point about 3 feet away from the boxes, and try and putt the first ball into to the first box.
3.)*** If you are successful, then leave the ball in the first box, and then attempt to putt into the second box. You have to make sure you do not hit the first ball out of its box..
4.)*** Continue, with the ultimate aim to putt one ball in each of the boxes.

Should you find that two balls rest in the same box, or tees get knocked over or your ball falls outside of the landing area, then you need to start again, until you finish with 4 balls in 4 individual boxes..

To extend this to two players or more..then set the game up in the same away as described above. Player 1 has the first attempt to complete the goal, then Player 2 has a go. The winner goes to the person with the most balls in unique boxes (However, these must have been completed sequentially!!!! No cheating pal!!).

If there is a tie, the game goes into sudden death. The players attempt to putt into the furthest distance box, the first player to not complete the task is eliminated from the game, until there is only one player remaining who is declared the winner!
