First of all, I'd like to say hello to everyone.
Secondly, I'd like to get apologise in advance if any rules are broken with this post. I read through the rules thoroughly, and don't believe I am in breach of any, but I may be without realising.
Straight to the point. I'm in school studying A-level Media. We have just been given an assignment to create a media product, and create a realistic pitch for it. As my school is located in Newport, host city of the Ryder Cup this year, our product has to some way relate to the audience of the Ryder Cup. My group and I have planned an idea of a book, detailing Newport's sporting history. We decided this as it's rare to find someone who is interested in one sport alone. We figure that if someone is interested in golf, chances are likely the will be interested in other sports. This may entice them to purchase products regarding sports around the time of the cup. Also, as Newport is host city, we're presuming that there may be people interested in learning about its sporting history. Also, we anticipate Newport residents will be more willing to buy the book, as there are many who are not interested in sport, but all the media coverage of the Ryder Cup may tantalise them into researching their cities sporting past.
You may be reading this and wondering where your assistance is required. With our pitch, we also have to consider pries and profits, how many we are expected to sell and so forth. So my question is, would you be willing to purchase a book regarding Newport's sporting background if you were/are going to the Ryder Cup and one were available to buy? I figure the best way to find out would be to ask people.
This is not an advertisement. We are not actually making this book. This is just for research purposes only for a school project.
Thank you for reading this, and again, I apologise if any rules have been broken.
