Now call me all modern but i always read a comment and think I wish their was just a like button I could click instead of writing a comment saying I agree.

Any one else think like this ?

It's such an easy thing to put on the forum site, I think the only reason it's not on here is that the mods must think its a lazy way of adding to a thread.

The truth is that sometimes someone on here comes out with a great comment that justly deserves the ' like ' button.

I think it would be a great addition to the forum and maybe stop some of the sniping that goes on.

Adding a like button isn't as easy as you are making it sound

It might not even be viable for the hosting site GM are using and certainly not easy

Surely we could get by with just a like/dislike emoticon?

If you do that then you add to the thread each time. Having a like or thumbs up button does not stretch out the thread so much but gets across the point. I agree with this and asked for something similar a week or so ago. They have them on another forum I take part in and it works very well.

Does someone from the forum look at these threads and respond? They may say no, give a resaon and we say okay but it would be nice to get a repsonse either way.

How about have a rep report! When if someone likes a comment they get some "green" dot added to their username and if they don't like their comment get a "red" dot

Any 'like' button is going to reduce the volume of forum posts and works against GM when they approach advertisers to place ads, currently I guess GM will say something like 'advertise with us, we have xx amount of visits/posts etc per week' so it seems unlikely they'll do anything to reduce that number

I disagree. If the system can count the Likes then it will show more visits. At the moment I will visit threads and it may not show as I will not necessarily post. However there may be a post where I would click a Like button. That would show the advertisers that I had seen their advert. This could be a big plus for GM.

I have asked the question although I was told the other day we are likley to be moving from v bulletin in the not too distant future (which I would think is why the mobile forum format hasn't been implemented)
