Played in the regular Saturday comp this morning. It was a Stableford.
Played great on the front 9, turning with 20 points.
Good going on the 10th, 11th and 12th and my confidence was up.
And then the wheels started to come off!

Honestly thought I'd banished the demons but they came back to haunt me. For the past 3 competitions I'd started well enough out of the blocks, but the back 9 ruined my card.
Ultimately blob bed the last 3 holes and carded 32 points. :(

Is it something mental that causes this? Errant drives, pulled iron shots and too many 3 putts.
Sometimes wish our course was a 9 holer! :D

Its very common, you have to learn to increase your golfing endurance.

Most players will start slow, pick up through the middle then wane at the end.

If you get your endurance up you can get off to a good start and keep an even pace throughout.

Its nothing more than knowing about and learning to build up your mental and physical endurance.
