1. Was there a time when you got a penalty if your ball hit another player's equipment in stroke play?

2. Does anyone know when the CDH started?

I don't believe their ever was - rub of the green. There was for hitting yours or your partners.

You did get a penalty for hitting your equipment.

I suspect that Colin was well aware of the recent pre 2019 rules.

The CDH was launched in October 2011. Initially CDH numbers were deleted after 3 years with no club attachment. In 2017 it was decided that numbers would not be deleted, in preparation for WHS.

I'm not sure why the website says 2009 but my recollection is that was when the then Club Services Committee (of which I was a member) commissioned the work.
