I'll catch you up to the past few weeks.
I traded in my burner 2.0 irons for a brand new set of vr full cavity and got 30 squid back. Wasn't happy about it becUse I was basically where I was 2 months ago.
Went and had a lesson, and the pro basically told me my swing is awful but a few simple tweaks will get it back together. At the end of the lesson, I then explained to him my ordeal with the gear. He said that the full cavitys were too forgiving for me, and as my ball striking is pretty good for a high handicapper, he gave me a 2nd hand set of vr pro combos to try out.
Amazing. The blades a so nice and surprisingly easy to hit, and the 7 iron down feel and look good at adress. He watched my swing them a few times, and said they would be good for me. I was on the edge, so asked for the price. 5-pw- 175 quid! I immediately snapped them up, and played in the stableford today. Scored 85 gross, net 61 ! Obviously something clicked, as now I've reached my goal for the year.
What's up next for me ? Practice for the remaining 2 months with multiple layers :)
Hope ya enjoyed the read, comments appreciated.
