A case for something other than Medal & SFs

We have a supper club each Wednesday - nine holes and a choice of several menu choices. Perfect way of newbies to get involved several different formats, both nines used over the season. Marvellous. And a few quid up for grabs each week. Start off the club handicap and it gets adjusted on performance

Sounds good - mind you calling it a 'supper' club would put some folk off - 'supper' being a rather quaint term - unless you are in Scotland of course when there is nothing to beat the likes of a black pudding supper from your local chippie. Words. words :)

Think it's the fact food is available after that is the source of the name.

I am always hungry.. so food is a good idea.

I think the good thing about our adult thingi is that it is on a weekend - when the non-retired can play.. always helpful..

We have a monthly " 21 and over handicap" Stableford. It works well as everyone enjoys themselves and not worried about looking stupid amongst the low handicappers. We get the juniors getting a taste of playing with adults whilst coming through the ranks. Everyone helps the newbies with scoring, marking cards, etiquette and rules without any animosity. Nobody feels they are getting in the way.
