We had something to similar to this at our place before we moved R&D abroad. It made objects in one colour out of a wax resin type material. It was used to make mock ups of next generation mobile computers, but i know some people used it to make toy cars, boats, etc
This machine is something else and has taken the 3d printer concept to another level. I think its main use is still to create prototype products so that engineers can easily share ideas without having to ship real models around the world.
Just watched a program about 3D printers - pretty interesting esp the bit about misuse and 'transport' looks like there is goinna be alot of folk unemployed :-(
