There have been so many tales of 300 yards plus drives on several different threads recently, should we not be forming a 300 plus club? Nominations please.

There are guys on here that can do it regularly, those who talk about it tend to be the ones who have done it a few times.... on ice fairways or very windy days down hill.....

I did it once a coupla weeks back on our 17th - wind behind and a fairway as hard as concrete. It was a mighty fine drive, hit with a bit of temper having stuffed up the 16th. Would have got a max of 250 in normal conditions!

I can on my day drive it 300 in total (not carry).. exception rather than the rule tho , i can drive our 12th which is just over 300 off medal tees , have a mate that outdrives me aswell .. so if its occasional over 300 rather than average over 300 id feel comfortable in that company ta ..

If I can't count my 298 then I'll have to count the 308 that I hit massively downhill at Lefties gaff. I was also well over 300 at East Brighton downhill, downwind, but forgot to measure it. Partly because I was going to be so far behind JustOne and Snelly it didn't seem worth measuring, and partly because it was going to pee it down at any minute.

I hit a 347 yard drive on the New Couse at St Andrews on the 10th. Downhill, down wind, fairways running. Got a picture taken to prove it and 3 witnesses ! Next hole I hit just as good a drive into the wind 180 yards.:( The 12th on the New Course runs in a similar direction to the 10th and I hit one 353 yards.:whoo:

Just shows if you are playing a links course, have the right wind direction, the ground is hard and downhill, even an old boy like me can get one out there. On my own course I think my longest drive would be 275 yards absolute maximum. As long as I can out drive Smiffy I am happy.:)
