You don't see the cameras show caddies loading up with tee on the first tee, nor take water or bananas from the boxes but they do. There are mutterings that take place as a matter of course that pass most of us by because they are things that happen daily for professionals. They don't need a Lion King moment on the first tee proclaiming their ball, it will be done casually and be over in a split second because everyone involved knows what is happening.

Yeah that was what I was trying to get across on previous page. Lots of little things going on and this is just one of them. There’s half a dozen ppl on the tee all milling doing various bits and bobs from introductions, registering, grabbing tees, water, fruit, scorecards, bibs. Sorting out provisional ball, ball to play with, marking them up, find out order of play etc long before any camera or spectator would take any notice
With so few (diff) balls played on tour I reckon its done simply to avoid duplication (or near duplication) with your PP’s ball/s rather than expecting them to remember what they’re looking for 9 holes later (there’s not really a whole lot of ball searching done in the rounds I’ve watched or been part of) Much more likely to sit close to a PP's ball on a fairway

Again I'm not pretending I do this every other week or for my job, far from it. But I have done it and that's what I saw
