Help needed folks, I am going for a 4 day golf break next year with non club golfing pals. We are hoping to go in May and from Friday to Tuesday in either Spain or Portugal.

Can anybody give me suggestions of hotels, agents, courses and anything else relevent to this little excursion. I am not sure these guys would enjoy a course where they loose a dozen balls so keep that in mind please.

Thanx in advance.

I was hoping you would get a flood of replies to this one M as i'm curious to know the way to go with such a venture myself.

Just to put some flesh on the bones: are you looking for an all inclusive package i.e. travel, accomodation, car hire golf etc? and if so are you looking for self catering or full board / half board and how many rounds of golf?

Just interested in your thinking really as a short break to the continent to play sounds a great idea if it's not too pricey (incidentally what sort of budget pp do you think covers this sort of trip?)

Madandra--try oceanico---www.oceanicogolf.com--they own teh five courses in Vilamoura and two otehr courses one designed by Faldo and one by O'Connor Jnr. They also have accommodation available.

They provide all sort of deals from 3 day/3 golf to 7 day/5 golf.

8 of us went for a 4 day weekend last year in Alicante, stayed at La finca, very reasonable-we got cheap flights thru XL airways bout £50 each + £15 to take clubs..

www.xl.com

We hired the villa below...£195 for 4 days, so £25 each.

Hired 2 people carriers from EasyCar.com at £80 each

We played La finca, lovely course and very open, half our group were 20+handicap and all enjoyed it.

However we also played Las Ramblas, which was very tricky, nice course but most of our group lost count of the amount of balls they lost! Very difficult, especially with a hangover, which didnt help!!

We went to Torrevieja on nights out which was good fun.

Hope this helps, Wilf.

Most guys I play with really rate Belek in Turkey for an all inclusive golf break. My Saturday swindle are going there next year. I have not been , but for those that have, it is meant to be cheap, not as busy as spain, with good courses all very close to each other.

Not in Spain or Portugal tho'.
