2000 plus views for 20 yards.

Definitely. Just had my best two rounds for nearly a year and it wasn't extra length that did it. Taking only half as many puts was the thing. And if length is the paramount tactic, how come the older guys, who can't hit it as far as they used to, still whip the skin off everyone? Being deadly from 70 yards in seems to do it for them.

Would you rather not put the ball in the hole more often. Putting practice will take shots off your score. So why this fascination with trying to get 20 yards.

Hehe.... nice post Tommo

To be honest though you can't make the putt if you're not even on the green!

Closer genuinely does make it easier, but that's not to say we should focus on any one part of our game, it all counts.

Totally correct.

Unless your regularly playing proper length championship courses its not worth it spending the time on it.

Short game practice will knock alot more off your card than 20yds will.

Ash!!

Ah, but hitting it 20 yards further will make you more of a man.
Your friends will envy you, women will flock around you and you children will be so proud of you.
The only slight fly in the ointment ......
The guarantee doesn't mention WHERE you are going to hit it ;)

It’s amazing how many people go on about driver length; we’re all caught in the headlights. You use your driver say 15 times in a round…how many putts do you have, double or more. An hour on the putting green is better than two on the range.

Mind you, because I just nudge the ball might have something to do with this.

The 20 yards post by JustOne was a thing of beauty though. Lots and lots of people go on about how far theycan hit it etc wheras JustOne posted some real advice.

I know that the title was about length but the technique he was explaining also helps everyone to understand their own swing a little more. personally I had a PB afetr this post and I am firmly of the belief that it helped me achieve this ...but...not by hitting longer because I didn't. I was much more consistent, my rythm was better, I wasnt't snatching at the swing it was smooooooth.

The video and pictures he posted are some of the best coaching / explination I have seen.

You know when something just feels like it has 'clicked' in your mind, something that you can actually use out on the course for once - thats JO's post for me :)

And yes I also agree that its no good if your putting is off - I had a good day on the greens also.

By the way its 3200+ views now !!!

"Driving for show, putting for dough" - Just ask Kyle Stanley!

I totally agree with Tommo here and I am one who will practice my short game/putting more than my driving. To say I am proud of how my short game/putting has come on over the last year, is an understatement. Up & Downs are a record high and my putting stats have fallen dramatically!

I still have a few negative thoughts stepping over a 3 footer for Par but I am working on that!

Give me a hot wedge/putter than a hot driver any day of the week!

Cheers HS, that one post makes 2½yrs on the forum worthwhile

Much appreciated.
