Hey everyone!

Yet another round goes buy where i fall down with the massive gap between my 15 degree 3 wood and my 4 iron.

Tried the whole hybrid route but just dont get on with them. Find they launch the ball too high and offer limited control and shaping options off the tee.

Im consistent off the tee with my irons so feel its time to update the bag.

Can anyone point me in the direction of who can supply me a 2 iron. What i thought would be a simple search is proving more difficult than first thought.

Cheers in advance!

Been looking round ebay this evening so that could be an option.

Dont want to go down the 5 wood option. Again tried them and find they launch too high. I play on links a lot so need to keep the ball as low as possible most of the time.

Was hoping someone may know if anyone supplies new 2 irons where i can specify shaft etc!?

What shaft do you need/want in it?

reason I asked is I have a couple of older Callaway X series 2 or 3 irons in the garage, but pretty sure both have Xtra Stiff shafts in them, will double check but sure they are X flex

May well be interested. Its X stiff KBS tour shafts ive got in my irons. If its not too much trouble could you check what type of shafts are on them.

I have an old Titleist DCI 962 2 iron that hasn't seen the light of day for more years than I care to remember. I think it's stiff shafted...can check if you think it might be any use to you.

2 iron is soo hard to hit. i bought one off here but couldnt get on with it. you need a quality swing to hit them right! far too much club for me. i sold it and bought an adams a12 pro 16degree hybrid. it is the best club i own. goes for miles, with a nice low trajectory. really workable as i can hit both draws and fades quite easily. small head on it so feels quite like an iron even though its a hybrid. only had it a week and i love it!

I couldn't get on with a 3 wood so got a 910H 17degree set to 16.25. Feel the exact same as Gary.

it was my weapon of choice yesterday. came 3rd with 38 points off our back sticks. kept the ball flight down and went as far as others with the driver. secret weapon! ;)

i never got on with a 3wood either. always sliced it. :(

This could be a solution too.

Not mine, but the one I had certainly worked well for me on links courses.

Did have a couple of 2-irons, but recently sold - as they hadn't been used for a couple of years!

Current 17* hybrid fulfils that role - low penetrating flight - really well too. This is a small-headed Adams. Other models flight is significantly higher.

Silvermere had some tm tour burner 2 irons at £10.00 each brand new. I got a 3i abd had the stock shaft pulled and changed for £23 to a Dynalite s300 to match my other irons
