1st medal of year in the morning . not playing great, fear it could be .1 back, AGAIN.. last week as someone posted forum members games seemed to be linked score wise so please tell me most people out today burned it up ..

Shot 88, nett 66, in a Winter Medal this morning. Thought I was in for my first ever handicap cut, but it turned out that the competition was a non-qualifier for handicap purposes, due to ongoing works on the course. :(

Played a winter series individual stableford. Non qualifier as off yellow tees but came back with 49 points. Had my best ever round of 84 gross. Very happy tonight!

I also played my first medal today and played inside my handicap net 68 SSS is 73. It was noted as being a non counter - similar term to yours - does anyone know if it doesn't affect your handicap if you scored above the buffer ? I thought if you beat the CSSS then you would still get cut but not sure ???? :D

It all depends Alan, some clubs automatically play as "reduction only". If this is not the case you can apply to the match secretary asking them to consider your score for handicap purposes.

Bloody good shooting right enough, you must be happy with that!

Well thats 1st medal over .doubled the 1st, parred 2,3,4,5,bogeyd 6 pard 7th doing ok with par 5 to come, ok drive, then some sort of mad shot into the only fir bush on the course thats not even on the 8th hole, penalty drop ended up with 7 .. back nine was mix of pars & doubles , finished 85 stokes ..nett 76 . (9.3 now) be at 10 b4 im at 8.. frustrated coz i was hitting the ball better than that score

One over handicap today. Pretty good shooting too judging by the scores in the clubhouse. Only one person under their handicap so far.

It was the first one off the whites so it was a real shock to the system on some holes. 3 woods into par 3s instead of 5 irons, 3 irons approaches when I've been hitting 9 irons.

Good fun though and nice to be playing the course properly again.

Round 2 of the comp next Sunday.

The competition notice didn't mention reductions only, so not too clear. I was really pleased, the only blips were an 8 on 12, 135 yds from pin after drive and a 7 on 13 !!!

Was at club today and have won 2nd class in the medal, and still don't know if I have been cut. So don't mind if I do get cut. Yes, very pleased, most consistent golf around Bogside for a long time.

What's your injury ?
