I got ripped to shreds by most of the other 28 guys for having a white headed driverand being the new guy, got ribbed all day, nothing I couldn't handle though.
Did you tell them how you got it and if so did they believe you?
BTW I think your experience is very common for a first qualifying score and, if not nerves, could be the result of putting too much pressure on yourself or thinking too much about your score. That's certainly what happened to me all those years ago when I was in your situation. It took a bit of time to learn to focus on the shot in hand and not get too worried about what my score was.

Yea, they believed me, I think, but it's just your typical golfer being golfers, nothing I couldn't handle and should have expected it really!
I might just carry a copy of the mag around with me in future, for those who don't believe me.
