Well after a few weeks deliberating on whether or not it was a good idea to put my name in the hat to represent my club in the Pierce Purcell Cup and play in the trials i managed to impress enough to be selected in the Pairs for Sunday mornings Foursomes.....

Its been a month of up and downs and alot of indecision and phone calls from the captains to ask me to reconsider but if im honest im delighted i did.....
I had a few hairy trials where i wasnt hitting the ball particularly well but i think last Sunday evening helped a lot.....
In our monthly medal i had a shocker and was skeptical of going for the trial Sunday evening but to say i was like a different player would have been an understatement......I played out of my skin 4 hrs after id walked off our 18th after getting 0.1 back.....

I had to play in another trial then last night with a different chap with qhom i clicked straight away with and now it turns out that we are paired for Sundays outing.......
Giddy isnt the word

Just hope that il be able to cam the nerves on the tee's Sunday in front of the people following there chosen club:whistle:

Good luck with Sunday! When I teed it up on the 1st for our club against a rival, even though it was just a trial match for both teams, I was surprised at how nervous I felt. The 20 or so people around the 1st tee ratcheted things up somewhat. I just about managed to keep focused on my pre-shot routine, and then picked out a target and swung easy, imagining that I was in the practice field.

Hope it goes well and would be interested to hear how you got on.

Just relax max. First (and only) time I played in it I carved the opening tee shot OOB  I just started to laugh as did my partner which lifted any tension we went on to have a decent enough score so it wasnt too bad. You will be fine and, I would think, like the experience.

Good luck with your match. I think you'll enjoy it if you view it with some perspective.

The worst thing that can happen?? A bit of ribbing from team mates.
