Well peeps we have reached 100,000 posts and we now have 2009 registered members which is a remarkable achievement. I remember J_F posted the 10,000th and it only seems like a few months ago.

There have been some cracking posts and alot of opinions voiced and it has given me hours and hours of fun and laughter.....

I look forward to the next 100k.

I noticed today that our most ever users online at once was 730

Who else can brag that!!!!

Amen to that.

I've seen a few golf forums, am a member of some of them too!

I now find myself perousing this one 99.9% of the time. I've seen it grow from being a small, fairly quiet forum into a much largerand more busier place.

I've definately noticed more on here each evening. No longer is it 6 folks trying to get a topic going.

Considering that it is a largely UK based membership, and isn't a global forum so to speak, it's certainly growing.

It does help when the comps mags forum is not very good!

I would like to find a forum that has a worldwide appeal though. I do miss my 'chats' with the Yanks, Aussies, South Africans and Kiwis in the yachting forum. Things got quite nationallistic at times! Me; looking for controversy, never!! ;) :p

I used to go to rec.sport.golf in the google forums years ago, but I got sick of the flame wars and off topic stuff. I know we've had some tiffs on here, but it's nothing compared to "RSG". I went back to check it recently to compare to here, and the sheer agression of some posts just blew my mind. Their GPS debate was a war zone!

I was not one of the originals, but I would like to think that I have pulled up a chair and been accepted now.

Do we know who posted the 100,000 post?

Dodger

Its sarky comments like this that make me wonder if all the effort I put in on here and organising the society day were actually worth the grief.

Don't recall ever being rude or sarcastic about anything you posted and have been a supporter of what you did with the England v Scotland thing. Still small minds and all that.

What's going on? :D

I think (putting some number together and coming up with another of my choice) is that Homer, the forum stalwart, has had a hissy fit due to the flipant, sarcastic and different point of view posting by some young upstarts, myself included on the board....

I have no idea about the PMs as I try not to use them as it's a forum after all and everyone should be allowed to get involved in any way they want (within the boundaries)...if we all posted straight up, sensible posts then this board would be..well...rubbish....

I maybe be wrong but I expect HJS to give us the full SP as to his thoughts and reasons as I don't think he is really the chap to just walk away....if he is though I can always go round and knock on his door to talk some sense into him...

Come on Homer - you are a very big part of this forum (well 4.8%) and a much needed voice of reason.....

Homer grow up,we are all having a light hearted bit of banter for christs sake.

If we hadn't seen pictures of you I would have guessed we were dealing with a 14 year old here,it's only a bit of leg pulling to try and make light of your wee fit. :p

I think some people have sent offending PM's to Homer which is bang out of order in my opinion. I would like to hear/read what was said bacause it is all cloudy and we cannot understand what has made HJS feel bad enough to contemplate chucking the forum.
