• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

(1) Tiger Woods v (64) Brendan Jones,

I dont mind, as long as it's not an American.
Lee Westwood would be a great brit winner or Sergio European.
And as for a Scottish winner..........thats a tuffy :(

Head to head the price of around 5/1 is good going. My opinion is that Woods has been good to go now for some time, but the birth of his second child has held him back on his return. Mickelson was very impressive with his comeback win last Sunday, while Stenson is a proven performer in this event. The 18/1 looks a decent shout on him.

Hi,
Coverage dosen't start until 7 so no need to pull a sickie how about Rory all he would have played is match play up until last year he was no.1 amature and all the yplay is match play he will meet Woods in the 3rd round if they both win there first 2 matches.
Mike

I reckon you're correct Alex (welcome to GM by the way) in that Woods himself posted on his blog back in mid january that he was striking the ball with no limitations in power or swing.

So I would imagine he's been ready for some time now, wgich is why i reckon he's got a far better chance than most of winning.

Go to the pub

The local only has freeview, and I have that. Just wandering if there was a website that would work, like the one that was posted on here in relation to the European Tour and worked in Windows Media Player.

I think Woods will be hard to ignore but my only concern would be his stamina if he had to go to the 18th every round. I would love to see Boo do well as well as Westwood but I think Kim is hitting it well enough to win this week

Apparently Tiger's been playing every day for the past 3 weeks or something so I don't think stamina will be an issue.

Kim's got the bad round syndrome at the moment. He seems to put 3 good ones together and then throws in a 76. Might do alright if the gets his form from the RC back.

Boo's yer man. You heard it here first!!

Have put £10 E/W on Stenson, but will still be in the Garcia corner.

Cant wait till the SKY coverage tonight, starts at 19:00? Or should I go hit some balls at the range?

I've already set my V+ box to record all of the coverage on Sky Sports, the missus can watch her soaps while i go to the range then the tele is mine from 8:30 alllllllllllllllllll night :D

Aint it amazing how the TV coverage statts straight after Tiger tees off1! Guess we will be back watching the Tiger show tonight.

Matchplay especially over 18 holes is very hard to predict. My favorite is G. Ogilvy, good season and has won the event before. Others with a good chance to win: Strix, Perez and Poults
GMac anyone?

I know coverage starts at 7pm but does anyone know what time it actually kicks off?

I will be in Mr Poulters corner.

But cash back is Svenson E/W

LOL

Never noticed that until i just read all the tee times, Sky's coverage goes live 2 mins before Tiger tees up, just enough time for a small Tiger-love-fest before watching his every shot :D

Lets have a sweepstake.....how many times will the word "ligament" be used on Sky's coverage tonight? I'll go for 22....
