Hi I run our winter league and a situation occurred over the weekend which prompted a discussion over golf bags and their use. One of the players electric trolley gave up so as he passed the club house with 4 holes to go he grabbed a handful of clubs and left the trolley there, as that was...
Found this on here http://www.playgolf.co.uk/alternate-formats/
"Herman & Sherman – Play the odd numbered holes with fade and the even numbered holes with a draw. This can be varied by playing 2 or 3 holes of each before switching, or alternate between fade and draws for after every shot."

Ours is pretty simple, individual Sunday roll up stableford (Full Handicap) with points awarded to the the top 10 places and a point to all for playing, handicaps are cut more severely and don't go back up. In addition there is a gross & net accumulator (Best 5 scores) and Eclectic comp running.
I'm busy sorting out the fixtures for our club comps for next year, and I was just curious as to when other courses run their summer season from and to. Generally our season starts late March and finishes early October, but I'm looking to bring it forward a couple of weeks and stretch it out...
Without getting technical I suppose i picked those 2 because of Els' rhythm and apparent lack of effort, and i know I'm playing well when my follow through feels long and elongated like Monty's
Just picking up on something from another thread where members are liking themselves to Pro golfers in terms of their swing style and/or rhythm, to try and get themselves into the right frame of mind for their shot.

I'm match secretary at my course and a few weeks ago when I was finalising the comp, I checked through all the cards and realised I hadn't signed my own, so DQ'd myself. Luckily everyone found out and had a right laugh, I wont be doing it again:cool:
Played an open day at the weekend and the guy I was playing with told a story of a few years ago he was playing a a pairs match and his opponents hit the ball into a bush surrounded by deep rough, he said as he went to hit his ball on the other side of the fairway when he noticed his opponents...
Whilst i'm a big advocate of being ready to take your shot straight after the previous player has, the traditionalist in me likes the honour system on the tee box. I think if more players got to their balls and were prepping their shots (without distracting others) while a playing partner was...
Thanks for that
We have our 36 hole club champs on Sunday and a couple of the older guys are wanting a buggy. I've told them they cant but wanted the hard facts
So thanks
