I'm playing the Ping i230 irons and everything is fine, very consistent, tight dispersion, good turf interaction, quite forgiving with good feel and sound although not up to forged standards for feel...but they're not forged anyway. My point is the rear plate of the club and here's my take on...
Yip lots of work being done this year at Dunbar, irrigation, tees, paths and many bunkers refaced. Played it just a few days ago and it was immaculate considering the time of year. Greens very true.
I'm slightly surprised that this club/course is going along okay considering Archerfield is right next door with super facilities at a fraction of the cost, still expensive though. If you take into account East Lothian has many genuine quality courses at a fraction of the cost of even...
Just getting into the season, played my first midweek Medal at Dunbar. Shot 42 on the front 9 into the wind then surprised myself by coming home in 34 after parring all 9 holes, something I've never done before. 76 shots CSS 72,
not bad for a 66years old.
My real hate is the offer of a cheaper membership to attract new members while the loyal members pay the full whack.
Cheats who are willing to point the finger at the anyone who is willing to call it.
Committees who are willing to sweep certain issues under the carpet rather than deal with it...
Wow........Wedges changed twice, back using my old vokey's. I used Srixon Z745s irons for nearly 4 years then got TM P790 but, although good, I just couldn't get used to the feel. Now have the latest Srixon 785s so back to that lovely feel and feedback that IMO no club has at the price. Driver...
Most of my better scores are at Dunbar, in fact my last medal there was 74 gross CSS 71 gave me more breathing space. I hit the ball fairly low, so if a player is fairly accurate you can run it in on many of the longer holes.
With Dunbar not being with HDID, any score I have there obviously goes through to my home club and gets updated usually when I play the next medal at my home club. In other words, even though many away scores are buffers, there would be many more dots on that graph. The HC is accurate though.
Thanks guys.......being honest, my Dunbar GC scores over the years are not on that chart as they're not attached to HDID. This year alone, I've done around 50 medal rounds.
