It’s good to read the way you guys think/approach your rounds. I probably just need to adjust my mentality and try to get more enjoyment from a low score, rather than individual shots.
Though, as i'm a casual golfer (I play maybe once or twice a month at best due to work/home commitments) I...
I have a question for you guys, particular the lower handicap players, on how you feel about playing “smart
So, my definition of that is to play safe, not to make gambles etc. on shots. I ask because I played “smart†on Monday in a practice round with a mate and shot my best round in...
If I could pay £1000 to hit the ball into the middle of the fairway with no extra distance gained, I probably would. So if I was a straight hitter and could pay £200 for an extra 20 yards then I'd pay it without question
I hit a Par 5 in 2 last year, bombed my tee shot down the left side of the fairway and caught a nice downslope, left my about 210-230 in, but needed to thread the ball between a thin part of the fairway that was tree lined before it opens up to the green.
Normally I would lay up short of that...
Cheers for the replies guys, I guess that equipment is all a bit hit and miss really - based on the individual having an effect on the outcome. I suppose if it was all done with a robot with a set swing speed, path and so on then, chances are, having a softer or stiffer shaft, higher or lower...
Is it right that a lower spinning driver/shaft combination (plus lower loft) has a tendency to promote hooks?
Something one of my mates was saying while he was being fit for a driver last week was that the guy fitting him said that putting him in a low loft/low spin driver setting was...
Head still? I thought that was meant to be the opposite now, I mean to consciously keep it as still as possible? I’ll keep that in mind.
You mean the physical grips on the clubs or how I grip the club? Or both I suppose wouldn’t be any harm
Hey guys, just wanting some ideas for how to best/more efficiently practice as, due to some issues at work, I’m now needing to work 6 nights a week for the next 6 weeks, so my practice time is restricted to my day off. Well, the afternoon of my day off anyway.
My plan is to go to the driving...
i'd advise putting extra time into Hazard Perception, particularly if you're a man. I remember years ago reading that men tend to pass the theory section at a higher rate than women but fail the hazard perception section at a higher rate than women also. Something about us not perceiving danger...
The problem with Conor, and what will always be a problem with Conor, is that he has no real ground game or wrestling. I'm sure he might stuff a few takedowns here and there, and he may be able to scramble back to his feet now and then, but against someone like Khabib who will just keep on...
Generally about a 7, if there’s a particularly wide fairway/no danger I’ll maybe tee it up a little higher and go to an 8 or a 9.
The other day I deliberately tried to swing well within myself on the second round, maybe a 5/6 to try and control the club and face more, to try and almost...
Hi all, anyone have any experience with just completely losing all ability to hit the ball from the tee before?
I played a couple of rounds over the weekend with mates and, other than the Par 3’s, I couldn’t get the ball off the tee!
I was shanking it, viciously hooking it, mega slices...
Yup, usually on tight/awkward fairways I have a tendency to swing while never truly making up my mind what I want to do with it and just completely whiff it
That’s interesting, me being a natural lefty, I feel I do the opposite! It feel like my right arm leads the backswing and my left arm leads the front swing, with the right arm being quite passive
Not sure, I’m actually left handed but learnt to play golf right handed (hand-me-down clubs as a teenager, cheaper and ended up learning how to swing the opposite way to how I play cricket) and I’ve always wondered if that may have an effect on my swing. Interested to read the replies from...
