We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!
Hi all,
With all the snow and lack of golf this weekend I have been thinking about what golf related web app I could build.
I currently keep track of my golf stats on an Excel spreadsheet - which is good, but I think there must be a better way to do it. Especially around practice sessions, not...
All depends if you are going for a one or two plane swing.
From my understanding, if one plane, there shouldn't be any weight shift, if two plane then you should be shifting to right side on your back swing.
Check out Jim Hardy stuff (especially their first book) for more on one and two plane...
2 years just seems to long to me. Tiger staying number 1 for so long without swinging a golf club for 2 long period when he had his knee opp and then time away for personal reasons indicates to me that it is too long.
Why not do it like F1? At the end of each year the points are added up and...
I'd love to do yogo or pilates as anything that improves flexibility will help your golf. Just can't see to find the time to do it though. At the moment I do manage to do some of the stretches in the Golf RX book every morning and evening, plus a few pushups.
Cheers

I've always found when playing Texas Scramble that it is best to have the highest handicap player going first, and the lowest off last. Seems to always work well when we've done it that way as the first off has the least pressure on them - and with putts it gives the lower handicap player a good...
I think ensuring you have the correct grip is something you have to work at your entire golfing life. It is very easy to slip back into bad habits as I keep finding out. I think the best thing to do is work on a pre shot routine that incorporates making sure you grip is correct before making a...
After seeing Stewart Cink stand up for Hunter Mahan I think he's a top guy:

Striker and Woods should accept the blame for the thrashing they got on Sunday!
I'd be a bit worried that the pro would say he didn't understand why it wasn't going 30 yards further. If anybody would know - it should be him, especially considering he can see all the stats from the tracking system and should be able to interpret them for you.
He might just be trying to sell...
I think it is important to know as a lot of the tips you read in magazines like Golf Monthly may not apply to you if you are a one plane type swing (and vice versa). In fact trying to implement a tip that should only be used for a 2 plane swing could really mess one planers up?

Best thing to do is get a recording of your swing from behind and then see if your arms and shoulders are on the same angle at the top of your back swing.

I hurt my back carrying the cat to the vets which is just around the corner. Funny thing was they said the cat was over-weight and needed to go on a diet! My poor back could have told them that! :-)

Hi all,
Just posted a write up about how I got on with the one and two plane golf swings. I didn't realize there were different planes and swing types until a chance tweet I saw about Matt Kuchar!
One Plane Swing
The book I mention in the write up is probably the best book I've ever bought...
