Played at Dubai Creek a few years ago and it was a treat, from start to finish everyone was fantastic and the course was excellent, would go again at the drop of a hat.....
Just spent the new year in Hurghada and it was ace, no problems locals were very friendly, friends went down to Luxor but a 3 hour each ws bus not my style but they said the valley of the kings was fantastic.

Can be difficult for a new member at a club if you don't know many people, Most golfers would encourage you to join in and make up a 3 ball / 4 ball, down side is that a lot of club golfers still dont recognise a single golfer and are not willing to let you through which is very frustrating...
