I've only played around 15 but I find it hard to believe there are 61 better links courses in the British Isles than Brora - absolutely love the place.
And Murcar at 90?
Still, the list just makes me want to discover as many as I can.
Fraserburgh, as already mentioned, is a lovely course which is really good value for money. Friendly members and deserving of more overseas visitors.
Would be nice if more tourists gave Trump Aberdeen a swerve and played there.
Thanks - that illustrates my concerns perfectly! There can't be that many other entertainment field which feel that it is justifiable to up their prices by 10% from one year to the next. And this is all about the traditional courses keeping up with the Trumps and Castle Stuarts of this world...
The thought of a new links course should fill me with joy but I can't help but think of the negative effects it can have on the affordability of golf in Scotland.
Trump International's arrival has led to Royal Aberdeen upping its prices over the last few years and I would imagine that a new...
Hopefully somewhere in the south of France in February - Saint Endreol or Terre Blanche.
Definitely a few in the Highlands late May - Dornoch, Tain, Brora, Golspie plus Moray Old and one of the two Nairn courses.
Threads like these will keep me going in the golfing close season which is nearly...
Cruden Bay for the fun.
Murcar for the welcome and the test.
Fraserburgh for the VFM.
Royal Aberdeen for the front nine.
Stonehaven for the quirkiness.
Toughest - Murcar. Poor shots punished without mercy. Great test of your game when played off the whites.
Best greens - Royal Aberdeen. An absolute pleasure to walk on, let alone putt on. Mind you, the fairways would be better to putt on than many courses' greens.
Most enjoyable - Cruden Bay...
I've hit my main goal - cutting my handicap from 17.5 to 15.5. Every part of my game has improved except for putting...
Woods - light years better. Driver slice disappeared. Fairway wood going straighter and further.
Enjoyment - has increased as my game has got more solid. Have played some...
Belle Dune is a lovely course - the village, Fort Mahon, is maybe not the best base as it's comatose out of season. Not played the Hardelot courses but they have a good reputation.
Saint-Omer is pretty decent if you don't want a coastal course.
Another great set of photos - thanks a lot.
I found Murcar the toughest out of Royal Aberdeen, cruden Bay and Fraserburgh all of which I played last week. Murcar I played in the calmest winds but the fairways are tight and the run-offs a problem.
A great course and a friendlier, more personal...
A wonderful set of pictures of a wonderful golf course.
I was there last week - played on Friday. Loved it so much that I went for another round on the Saturday evening in 30mph winds, foresaking the Champions League final.
I loved the fact I scored par + birdie on the blind par 3 15th yet...
The preaching about healthy eating is a bit tiresome as he always seems to mention it but the putting tip in the video is invaluable for nervous putters like myself.
