First bash this evening having had 6 weeks out with a broken index finger! Just hoping I can get around a few holes pain free, seeing as I have a golf weekend booked for next weekend!
100% helps!
I was a 12 handicap after lessons, was reasonably happy with how I was playing, however was losing shots off the tee, whether it be lost balls, or having to chip out of bushes, penalty shots etc.
Driver fitting and a new driver purchased, and I'm down to a 6 handicap. Rather than...
40 pointer yesterday off my new handicap of 8 - 4 over par 75
Every part of the game really coming along nicely now, which makes a change! New HI of 6.5 meant the 8 handicap didn't last long!
2nd place in the competition brought about a small prize though!
Had an absolute mad 5 minutes at the weekend which cost me a competition win and a lowest score ever off the back tees
+3 for the first 17 holes, 39 points, followed by worst tee shot of the day which just stays in bounds, catch my 8 iron fat from the rough and end up in a bush! 1 poor chip and...
+5, 76 this morning will mean I finally get down to single figures playing handicap!
A lot more to learn and improve on, but the game is finally getting there, regular playing partners have recently been calling my golf "dull" and thinking about it, that's exactly what you want to be, steady...
Have always used a Callaway Supersoft, never deviated from it but it just doesn't give the sort of greenside control of a more premium ball - hence the change!
Yes, practice is next on the agenda - however with work from home at the moment, i'm sneaking off early for a full round, rather than...
Have set myself a few goals throughout this season - Playing handicap of 9 being one of them!
Thought i'd acheived it after a competition round on Sunday knowing it'd cut my Handicap Index - Unfortunately, cut to 8.2, 8.1 needed to play off 9!!
Hopefully see another drop in the coming weeks...
About time I updated this!
Couple of lessons and almost non stop golf since reopening in March - WHS index is now down to 9.1
The real big gains I have seen have come from the following
- Lessons - Couple to work on a swing problem, got my ball striking to another level
- Fitting - Was...
Was recently fit for a driver, and for me personally have seen a massive gain!
But you really have to go in there with an open mind, I thought I wanted the TM Sim2, hit it no better than my old Cobra F6, Moved on to try a Callaway Epic Speed - Ball speed up, spin down and distance well up! Off...
Putter fitting the other day = new Taylormade EX Putter purchased - Slight delay as custom fit to 37"
Seem to not be capable of just buying 1 golf item at a time, so a couple of new shirts and some Footjoy Pro SL's on the way too!
